SuzhouThis year's International Museum Day falls on May 18, with the theme "Museums Uniting a Divided World," highlighting museums' unique role as cultural hubs. Suzhou will launch a grand opening ceremony for its International Museum Day Suzhou main venue events and the 10th anniversary of the Suzhou Museum of Imperial Kiln Brick.

During the event, a cultural market featuring 50 booths will showcase museum-themed cultural and creative products, intangible cultural heritage products, and seasonal local agricultural specialties.
Tomorrow (May 16), Suzhou Museum of Imperial Kiln Brick 苏州御窑金砖博物馆 will host a kickoff ceremony to present Suzhou's achievements in building a "City of Museums," with talks by museum ambassadors, the unveiling of a research base, a retrospective of the museum's decade-long development, and the debut of its first "Kiln Brick Celebrity Handprint Wall."

The museum will also host a themed sharing session titled "My Story with the Imperial Kiln Brick." Additionally, an online interactive experience event will be launched via the Suzhou Network Museum, alongside a special AI-powered exhibition of old photos commemorating the museum's 10th anniversary.

On May 18, all non-state-owned museums in Suzhou will offer free admission to the public. Additionally, the Suzhou Network Museum Check-in mini-program will distribute shopping vouchers and discounted tickets for the immersive night tour at the Suzhou Museum of Imperial Kiln Brick, allowing visitors to explore the museum's kiln brick heritage after dark and the charm of its cultural and creative products.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Suzhou Museum 苏州博物馆 . To celebrate, the museum will host limited-time displays of its treasure collections, thematic exhibitions, and immersive interactive activities.

On May 18, Suzhou Museum and Suzhou Museum West 苏州博物馆西馆 will extend their opening hours (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.), with last entry at 7 p.m.
The Suzhou Archaeological Museum has meticulously curated a special exhibition to celebrate its 1st anniversary and the 2026 International Museum Day, which will officially open on May 17.

Of note, the 2026 Six Arts Market Festival kicked off today (May 15) and will run through May 17.

The upgraded stalls showcase intangible cultural heritage crafts, handmade treasures, traditional techniques, and contemporary designs. The performance has been upgraded, offering a series of captivating shows from morning to night. New features include NPC interactions, a pet zone, and the adventure mini golf experience.
