Chengdu to host WDSF World Championship Breaking

The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has officially announced on its website that Chengdu will stage the 2024 WDSF World Championship Breaking from December 20th to 21st at Chengbei Gymnasium. Top dancers from more than 40 countries and regions across the world will take part in the event to compete for spots in the World Games Chengdu.

It is reported that the breaking competition at the Chengdu World Games will align with the standards of the Paris Olympics, featuring two categories for men and women, with 16 top dancers from around the world participating in each.

The 12th World Dancesport Festival was held in Chengdu from September 21st to 22nd. “As a witness of the brilliant performances at the 12th World Dancesport Festival, I am looking forward to the World Games Chengdu.” said Nenad Jeftic, WDSF's Vice President. 

In 2025, Chengdu will host the 12th World Games, where Dancesport is one of the 35 major events, including three subdivisions: Latin dance, standard dance, and breaking. According to Nenad Jeftic, WDSF will put on stage a series of events in December this year in order to select top-class dancers for the competitions in the World Games Chengdu.
