This comprehensive transportation hub is still under construction now, with its major ground parts already completed. It will be put into service next year. Unlike other railway stations, its sail-like building is the only visible part above ground, with the platforms and tracks set underground.
The comprehensive transportation hub adopts the concept of "station-city integration" to "sink" all of its transportation functions underground, achieving maximized and intensive land use. The underground building covers an area of 1.28 million square meters, five times the size of the National Stadium (Bird's Nest).
The underground space consists of
three floors. The
B1 level will be used as a
dining and commercial area for passengers; the
B2 level will serve as a
public transfer area for passengers of trains, subway, and buses; and the
B3 level will be for
tracks and platforms at a depth of 32 meters. In the future, this area will integrate
two intercity railways, four rail transit lines, one suburban railway, and 15 bus shuttle routes.

Once completed, it will take, from this station,
15 minutes to reach Beijing Capital International Airport,
35 minutes to reach Beijing Daxing International Airport and Hebei's Tangshan, and
1 hour to arrive in Xiong'an New Area and Tianjin's Binhai New Area.
