Galbot to set up regional operations HQ in Xiamen

Last month, China Media Group (CMG) announced that the embodied large-model general-purpose robotics developed by Beijing Galbot Co., Ltd. will be put on stage for the 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala. This marks the second time that humanoid robots will be making their presence on the national stage following the debut of Unitree Robotics' humanoid robots at the 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, once again putting the applications of embodied intelligence technology firmly in the spotlight.

A 16-square-meter "space capsule" located at the east section of Zhongshan Road in Xiamen in Southeast China's Fujian Province has become a popular new attraction. Inside, Galbot's self-developed general-purpose robot, named after the company that created it, is on duty.

From warmly greeting visitors and interacting enthusiastically with locals and tourists to precisely picking up and delivering products and seamlessly completing ordering and payment processes, Galbot performs flawlessly. With its continuous online service, complemented by autonomous charging and remote intelligent scheduling features, this "robot manager" offers consumers a novel shopping experience without the need for human supervision.

Yao Tengzhou, co-founder and general manager of the Beijing company, said: "We have introduced a new business model where our robots handle the entire sales process for products including coffee, beverages, and snacks. We hope to expand this to include Xiamen's cultural and creative products, providing both residents and visitors with a fresh retail experience."

This technological marvel signifies the official launch of Galbot's general-purpose robotics project in Xiamen and represents a clear example of the commitment of Xiamen, and especially its Siming District, to extend their involvement in the artificial intelligence sector and help develop the embodied intelligence industry.

Founded in 2023, Galbot is mainly involved in the manufacturing and sales of consumer service robots, intelligent robot research and development, technical services and technology development. Focusing on embodied intelligence technology, the company drives the development of robotics through full-stack, self-developed, embodied large models to achieve autonomous task execution.

Following the project's launch, Galbot will establish a subsidiary in Xiamen, positioning it as a regional operations headquarters that integrates R&D, manufacturing, application, operation, exhibition, and product export.
