Qingdao

The Shandong National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has released a list of 8 model cases of new consumption scenes across the province, naming two Qingdao sites among them: the Qingdao Olympic Sailing and Marine Culture Tourist (OSMC) Areas and the Tsingtao Beer Museum.

The Qingdao Olympic Sailing and Marine Culture Tourist (OSMC) Areas are a national 5A-rated destination developed by the Qingdao Tourism Group that follows a strategy of integrated land-and-sea planning, scene innovation and culture-tourism fusion, bringing together 2 core zones—Qingdao Underwater World and the Qingdao International Sailing Centre—to create a new marine tourism ecosystem that links daytime sightseeing with nighttime spending, single-site visits with full-area services, and traditional experiences with interactive technology. The area had received a total of 12.03 million visitors by the end of October 2025, with steady growth in footfall. Its Viewing Qingdao from the Sea cultural tourism experience tourism brand has also pushed annual visitors past the 4-million mark, a record high.

A flagship of industrial tourism, the Tsingtao Beer Museum is built around the brewery's century-old factory buildings and historic equipment, presenting the brand's development and brewing processes as its core narrative. The Museum, having grown into a multifunctional destination that combines dining, cultural history, production displays, beer-themed entertainment and cultural-creative retail, has received up to 15 million visitors since opening in 2003, including nearly 2 million in the first 10 months of this year.
