On November 3, 2025, the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a “Notice on the Extension of Visa-Free Entry Policy”, which officially announced two new visa waiver policies. The details are as follows:
To continue to facilitate cross-border travel, China has decided to extend visa-free entry policy to France and other countries (see below) to 24:00 on December 31, 2026. China has added Sweden to the visa-free scheme effective from November 10, 2025 to December 31, 2026. Nationals of the aforementioned countries holding valid ordinary passports can be exempted from visa requirement if entering into China for the purpose of business, tourism, family or friends visits, exchange, and transit. They can stay in China for no more than 30 days without visa. Those who are not eligible for the visa-free policy must obtain a Chinese visa prior to entry.

France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Andorra, the Republic of Korea, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain
