When cultural heritage enters today's urban life, what else can a beam of light connect? On the evenings of July 14th and 15th, finalists of the 2026 "Eternal Heritage" Global Maker Challenge delved into the urban fabric of Nanjing—enjoying the night view of Zhan Garden to experience Jiangnan-style gardens and literary theater; climbing Taicheng at night to understand Nanjing’s city history; and exploring the ruins of Dabao'en Temple to grasp Nanjing’s civilizational exchange with the world. Thirty-six young makers from nine countries including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Spain used "light" as their guide to explore new possibilities for nighttime cultural heritage experiences.
