Suzhou unveils new way to explore Taihu Lake in May Day holiday

When it comes to taking in the beauty of Taihu Lake, would you rather cruise across the water, drive the scenic lakeside roads or cycle along the shoreline? In the upcoming May Day holiday, Wuzhong District will roll out a new program that turns sightseeing into a moving concert.

A double-decker bus featuring karaoke equipment will depart from Jintiantai Service Station 太湖驿站-浸天台站 daily from May 1 to 5. Each day, it will stop at a different destination.

May 1: 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Warm Village 林渡暖村

May 2: 3 p.m.-6 p.m., Dongshan ATE 东山ATE

May 3: 4 p.m.-8 p.m., Renaissance Hotel 苏州太湖万丽酒店 & Marriott Hotel 苏州太湖万豪酒店

May 4: 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m., Happy Farm 开心农场

May 5: 2 p.m.-5 p.m., Yujian Lighthouse 屿见灯塔

Passengers who love to sing will have a chance to show off their beautiful voice. After posting photos or videos on social media platforms such as Xiaohongshu and WeChat with designated hashtags, they can perform two songs.

In addition to live band performances, each destination will have its own special activities and attractions.

Wuzhong Taihu New Town

This is the area where the starting point is. It offers lakeside rest centers and camping sites, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the lake view.

Warm Village

The countryside retreat boasts homestays, rural markets, intangible cultural heritage workshops, nature education, family entertainment, luxury dining, mini trains, hiking trails and camping sites.

Dongshan ATE

With excellent mountain and lake views, it combines accommodations, cafes, restaurants and leisure spaces.

Situated on Chongshan Island in Guangfu Town , this lighthouse has become one of the most recognizable photo spots in the city .
