Nanjing
Recently, the Nanjing Foreign Affairs Translation Center held the "Woodpecker Action" activity to verify and correct foreign language signs in public places in Nanjing. About 20 foreign teachers and international students from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Nanjing University of Science and Technology participated. They entered subway stations and subway cars to carefully and meticulously inspect commonly used foreign language signs. Subsequently, they also visited scenic spots such as Niu Shou Mountain and International Friendship Park, as well as foreign-related tourist attractions. As an "experience officer" of the international language environment, they not only felt the international atmosphere of Nanjing but also checked the details of every foreign language sign and put forward suggestions for improvement. During the event, foreigners expressed their appreciation for the coverage and accuracy of foreign language signs in public places in our city. They all expressed their hope to continue participating in such activities and contribute their share to the construction of Nanjing's international language environment.
