BX3795 carried 217 passengers from Busan, the Republic of Korea to a smooth landing at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport on Jan 4, inaugurating the direct passenger flights between the two places. This also represents Xiamen's second direct passenger route to the Republic of Korea, in addition to the existing direct flights to Seoul.
The route is operated by Air Busan with two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Sundays in the form of charter service. The inbound flight BX3795 departs from Busan, at 6:05 am Beijing Time and arrives in Xiamen at 9:05 am. The outbound flight BX3785 takes off from Xiamen at 10:05 am Beijing Time on the same day and arrives back in Busan at 1:30 pm, with a one-way flight duration of approximately three hours.
Busan, the largest port and second-largest city in the Republic of Korea, is an international tourist destination with well-developed light industry and logistics sectors. It leads the country in shipbuilding and tire production and is home to the country's largest seafood market. In 2019, the Port of Busan and the Port of Xiamen established a sister-port relationship.
To date, Xiamen has opened 44 international passenger and cargo routes, connecting to 24 countries and regions worldwide.
