Zhongshan Hospital , Fudan University (Xiamen Branch) (referred to as "Fudan Zhongshan Xiamen Hospital") is a major public welfare project jointly constructed by Fudan University and Xiamen City. It is one of the first batch of national regional medical centers. The hospital is located on the Wuyuan Bay in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, covering an area of 6.22 hectares, with a total construction area of approximately 175,000 square meters and 800 beds. It is a modern comprehensive tertiary hospital fully managed by Fudan Zhongshan Hospital (referred to as "Fudan Zhongshan Hospital") on a homogenized model.
Fudan Zhongshan Xiamen Hospital has always adhered to the spirit of "patient-centered" of Fudan Zhongshan Hospital, advocating the core values of "rigorous, realistic, unity, dedication, innovation, and care", inheriting its rigorous medical style, exquisite medical technology and strict scientific management, and plans to build a comprehensive medical center for difficult and serious diseases, a multi-point practice demonstration base in Xiamen, a health care center, a base for medical exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan, a medical research and medical talent training center of Fudan University in Xiamen, and a practical and teaching base for medical students in higher medical colleges.

Medicine
Fudan Zhongshan Xiamen Hospital focuses on the development model of "major specialized fields, minor comprehensive services", relying on the 18 national-level key specialties of Shanghai headquarters Fudan Zhongshan Hospital. It specializes in diseases such as heart, blood vessels, liver, lungs, kidneys and gastrointestinal diseases, and develops differently from existing medical institutions in Xiamen. Currently, it has opened over forty clinical and medical technology departments, and has 12 renowned medical studios named after academicians Fan Jia and Ge Huanbo. The hospital has established three technical platforms: comprehensive endoscopic surgery treatment platform, comprehensive interventional surgery treatment platform, and critical illness platform; two specialized platforms: digestive disease specialty platform and vascular general disease specialty platform; and has already opened a green emergency channel. It has carried out multidisciplinary comprehensive diagnosis and treatment services (MDT), and has also opened MDT diagnosis and treatment services between Shanghai and Xiamen through the remote video platform. It has comprehensively constructed a multi-disciplinary collaboration model to provide one-stop precise medical services for patients.

Fudan Zhongshan Xiamen Hospital implements the same-level management as Fudan Zhongshan Hospital. The heads of clinical and medical-technical support departments are all concurrently held by the department heads of the corresponding disciplines of Fudan Zhongshan Hospital. The medical level is high and the technical strength is strong. The administrative functional departments of the Shanghai headquarters are the first responsible persons of the corresponding functional departments of the Xiamen hospital, ensuring the homogeneity of the hospital management level.
To ensure the original high-level hospital management and medical level, the headquarters of Fudan Zhongshan Hospital has dispatched approximately 120 medical experts and management backbone to work in Xiamen for a long term. At the same time, the two hospitals adopt the same information management system, and have opened remote outpatient, remote ward rounds, remote consultation platforms and green channels for the referral of patients with difficult and serious diseases, basically achieving seamless connection of medical diagnosis and treatment between the two places. We actively encourage employees to participate in scientific research and innovation, and take multiple measures to improve the construction of the research platform. By the end of 2020, the hospital had a total of 184 research projects, including 1 project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China; more than 160 papers were published, including over 50 SCI papers; 37 continuing medical education programs at various levels were held, including 1 national-level program. This system integrates the storage, transmission and data management of clean items in the supply room, addressing the overall logistics needs from the supply room to the operating room.
