German photographer: Ethnic harmony makes Xinjiang a beautiful place

Nov 06, 2025

Recently, a group of 16 online influencers and media representatives from countries and regions, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Canada, France, and Germany participated in the second season of the "Xinjiang in Four Seasons·Encountering Kunlun" program. They successively visited Urumqi City, Hotan Prefecture, Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture, and Kashi Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, to experience and document the beauty of Xinjiang.
As the event was drawing to a close, German photographer Yolanda vom Hagen selected three photos from the many she had taken during the trip. These photos, which focused on food, scenery, and vibrant culture, captured the scenes that had left the deepest impressions on her. Through her lens, Xinjiang appeared tranquil and beautiful, with different ethnic groups living in harmony, respecting each other, which was truly touching. For her, choosing just three photos was far from enough to convey the beauty of Xinjiang. "I try to carry that through my videos and through my photographs into the world," Yolanda said.
