If the foreign national is currently in China: Obtain a Certificate of No Record of Marriage from the Embassy or Consulate of the applicant's home country in Beijing, China.

If the foreign national is currently in their home country: Obtain a Certificate of No Record of Marriage issued by a notary public or competent authority in the applicant's home country. This certificate must then be authenticated through the Apostille Convention (Hague Apostille). After the certificate is brought to China and translated, both the original and the translated version must be presented together for use in China.
