Botero in Guangzhou

This expansive exhibition celebrates the late Fernando Botero, Colombia’s most iconic artist. With 81 masterpieces spanning oil, watercolor, and bronze, the exhibition explores Botero’s unique 'Boterismo' style defined by generous forms, vibrant energy, and whimsical humor. From bullfights and circus scenes to everyday life and still-life compositions, the works capture Latin American culture with a playful gravity. Jointly curated by the Guangdong Museum of Art and the Botero Foundation, this is the artist’s largest retrospective in China, offering a vibrant immersion into a world both sensuous and symbolic.
