Global robot star Galbot scales up in Xiamen

A video recently went viral on social media platforms worldwide, showing a humanoid robot playing multiple consecutive rallies of tennis autonomously with a human player. The globally trending robot was developed by Galbot.

As a global leader in embodied AI robotics, Galbot first launched an embodied intelligence project in Siming District, Xiamen. It later established Xiamen Galbot Co., Ltd. in the same district — marking the official start of its partnership with the city and the district to advance the smart economy.

Residents and visitors in Xiamen experienced Galbot's robots firsthand at the Galbot Capsules and robot retail stores at locations including Zhongshan Road and Gulangyu Island. The robots at each capsule are more than just fully automated vending machines, but also serve as smart guides for cultural and tourism consumption, offering a fresh glimpse into Xiamen 's tech-driven charm .

In the future, Galbot will move beyond cultural and tourism consumption to empower a wider range of sectors, including industrial manufacturing, healthcare and rehabilitation, and home services. Meanwhile, the Galbot Capsules and robot retail stores will expand to more locations, with ongoing upgrades centered on robot interactions with consumers and everyday users.

The core breakthrough behind robots that can play tennis or serve as shop assistants is the shift from executing commands to responding intelligently and autonomously .

Galbot's robots are fully autonomous workers, perfectly capable of delicate tasks like picking up broken glass, and folding clothes. This is where embodied AI technology transforms into real productivity. The company saw over 1,000 units deployed in real-world scenarios last year, and this year will see an even larger rollout.
