Chengdu Flash｜High-speed Train Links Chengdu and Shangri-La

Number D239, which departs at 8:40 from Chengdu South Railway Station and arrives at Shangri-La in Yunnan at 19:32, will be the first direct high-speed train from Chengdu to Shangri-La, with a total time of 10 hours and 52 minutes. The train will run along a course with stops at Xichang West Railway Station, Panzhihua South Railway Station, Yuanmou West Railway Station, Guangtong North Railway Station, Lijiang Railway Station and Xiaozhongdian Railway Station. Information published on the official website of 12306 China Railway shows that second-class ticket sells at RMB 439, first-class ticket at RMB 702 and business ticket at RMB 1462. Ticket reservation has opened to the public.

The new train service will also provide direct transportation from Chengdu to Lijiang City, which will take about nine hours. The rates for the train service from Chengdu to Lijiang will be RMB 376 for second-class ticket, RMB 602 for first-class ticket and RMB 1243 for business ticket.

Before the start of the new service, there used to be no direct link from Chengdu to Shangri-La and Lijiang, and visitors to the two tourist destinations would have to arrive at Kunming Railway Station or Guangtong North Railway Station for transfer train services.
