Consular Officials’ Discovering Tour to Qionglai

On February 19, 2025, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Chengdu Municipality, in collaboration with the People’s Government of Qionglai Municipality, held the event “Consular Officials’ Discovering Tour to Districts (County-Level Cities) and Counties—Approaching Qionglai”, where consuls general and consular officials in Chengdu and Chongqing, representatives from international chambers of commerce in Chengdu, and representatives from Chengdu-based Hong Kong and Macao institutions were invited to visit Qionglai for new opportunities of cooperation and exchange.

Participants include Consul General Günther Lazelsberger of the Republic of Austria in Chengdu, Consul General Mert Tokman of the Republic of Türkiye in Chengdu, Consul General Joel Tan of the Republic of Singapore in Chengdu, Consul General Cezar Amaral of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Chengdu, Consul General Wonjae Uhm of the Republic of Korea in Chengdu, Consul General Meaghan Shaw of Australia in Chengdu, Consul General Sake Nopthaisong of Royal Thai Consulate General in Chengdu, Acting Consul General Agha Hunain Abbas Khan of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Chengdu, consular officials of Germany and Nepal in Chengdu, consular officials of Japan in Chongqing, as well as representatives from chambers of commerce from the United States, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Chile, and other countries in Chengdu, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Chengdu of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Chengdu Representative Office of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute of Macao. The delegation visited Yang’an Technology Innovation Center, Sichuan Zichen Technology Co., Ltd., Bacchus Liquor (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., and Wenmaifang.

At Yang’an Technology Innovation Center, the delegation was captivated by its unique architectural design. The spacious and well-lit exhibition halls, fully equipped public service areas, and vigorous entrepreneurship service areas left a lasting impression on delegation members, who exclaimed that the center is not only an optimal base for high-end research teams but also a robust support for the high-quality development of Tianfu New Area New Energy and New Materials Industry Functional Zone.

At Sichuan Zichen Technology Co., Ltd., the delegation acquired an in-depth understanding of the production process, technology innovation, and future development strategies for anode materials of new energy lithium battery, appreciating the company’s forward-looking strategies and achievements realized by Qionglai’s initiatives in fostering new energy and new materials industries.

As the wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Bacchus Liquor Co., Ltd. in southwestern China, Bacchus Liquor (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. has established China’s first large-scale liquor production line and pioneered China’s first original liquor brand “Laizhou”. The delegation visited production workshops to learn about the company’s planning, brewing processes, and other details, exhibiting keen interest in the company’s innovation and exploration in the liquor culture.

Wenmaifang, as Qionglai’s first urban renewal program, has incorporated traditional business models while proactively integrating diverse and multipurpose spaces that reflect the city’s character and warmth, developing a business model with “internationally oriented large businesses and Qionglai-style small businesses”. The delegation visited Qionglai Liquor Exhibition Area, Liquor Mixing Experience Area, Liquor Aroma Exhibition, and other areas, gaining insights into the history of liquor, industrial regulation, liquor industrial chain, e-commerce live-streaming stations, and other fields. The immersive experiences and interactive consumption scenarios left a deep impression.

During the event, Qionglai successfully held a promotional meeting, at which participants learned more about local government’s efforts in exploiting the economic value of the local ecological advantages, overall rural revitalization, city construction with local features and so on. The city declared at the meeting that it will speed up efforts to reconstruct modern industry systems, optimize business environment and foster a more open and inclusive environment for development for domestic and overseas partners, which was greeted with active responses of the participants, who expressed that the visit to Qionglai City would serve as a new channel and the starting point for further cooperation and exchange to create an even bright future.
