To further improve inbound payment services and inject new momentum into consumption. WeChat Pay has recently announced a preferential campaign targeting international users in China.
For the first time users link international cards to WeChat Pay are eligible for a full waiver of the transaction fee on daily transactions up to RMB1,000, valid for 60 consecutive days starting from their first transactions.
All international bank card users can enjoy a 3% fee waiver on every single transaction under CNY 200.

The campaign will continue till the end of the year.
Overseas visitors to China can bind major international credit card like VISA、Mastercard、American Express、Discover Global、Network、JCB、Diners Club and UnionPay to WeChat pay and make payment directly. After completing real name verification, users can gain higher payment limits and a wider range of services. Statistics show that both the number and volume of international Wechat pay nearly doubled during the May Day holiday compared to the same period last year.
In addition to its international card linking payment, WeChat Pay is also expanding its “Pay with Overseas Wallet” solution. During the Expo Osaka 2025, WeChat announced the updated payment service, foreign visitor can scan the WeChat Pay Codes and make payments using 14 overseas wallets such as Octopus(Hong Kong), BOC(Macau) , K plus (Thailand), Bakong(Cambodia), ICBC Pay (New Zealand), NAVER Pay(South Korea) and Boost (Malaysia).
