Harmonious blend of tradition & development in Qingshan Village

This summer I had the distinct privilege of visiting the picturesque village of Qingshan Village  as part of an event organized by Zhejiang University of Science and Technology. As a student at the university, I was delighted to have the opportunity to explore this village and gain insight into its rich history and unique blend of tranquility and development.
The day began with an engaging lecture delivered by an experienced English-speaking guide who shared with us the fascinating history of the village's development. As a native of a small Russian village, I have always held a deep appreciation for the charm and slow-paced lifestyle that rural areas offer. I value the strong sense of community and connection to nature that these places provide. However, it has always been a source of concern to observe the lack of progress and opportunities in my own village, forcing many  individuals to leave in search of a better life.

This is why I was particularly intrigued and delighted to discover that Qingshan Village successfully combines the preservation of a peaceful village life with harmonious development. The villagers come together for various workshops and events, attracting companies that create job opportunities and recreational activities. It was encouraging to witness the sense of unity and pride that emanated from the village as we saw a magnificent dragon, beautifully adorned and used during festivals. This symbol of unity truly brings the villagers together, as it serves to unite them in a common purpose.

One of the highlights of the visit was the breathtaking natural scenery that surrounded the village. The sparkling reservoirs with their emerald waters, nestled amidst the encompassing mountains, created a picturesque backdrop that seemed straight out of a painting. The pristine environment and tranquil atmosphere were truly captivating, allowing us to momentarily escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

As part of our experience, we had the opportunity to participate in a bamboo fan-making workshop. This activity not only immersed us in the local culture but also provided a chance for me to forge a beautiful friendship with a lovely Chinese girl. The fan I crafted with my newfound friend became a symbol of our newly formed bond, a testament to the power of cultural exchange and friendship.

The village of Qingshan Village also impressed us with its culinary delights. We were treated to a delectable feast, which showcased the exceptional quality of the village's food industry. This further demonstrated the village's commitment to offering a well-rounded experience for its visitors.

In addition to the enchanting landscapes, cultural workshops, and exquisite cuisine, the story of "A Drop of Water" imbued our visit with a deeper significance. This symbolic tale reminded us of the importance of individual actions in preserving the environment and the necessity for sustainable development. It served as a powerful reminder that every small step taken towards conservation and harmony can bring about significant changes.

In light of my visit to Qingshan Village, I am impressed by the village's dedication to preserving its rural character while also embracing progress. It serves as a shining example of how communities can thrive by blending tradition with innovation. The experience has not only deepened my appreciation for the appeal of small villages but has also instilled hope for the future of my own village and similar communities.
In conclusion, my day in Qingshan Village proved to be a truly informative and enlightening experience. The combination of the engaging lecture, the stunning natural surroundings, the cultural workshops, the delicious food, and the heartwarming sense of community left a lasting impression on me. It reminded me of the value of preserving our cultural heritage while embracing progress, and it reinforced my belief in the power of unity and friendship. I am  grateful to have had the chance to witness the magic of Qingshan Village  and share in the spirit of this remarkable village.
