Xu Xiake Stories

Xu Xiake Stories are a municipal intangible cultural heritage item.

Xu Xiake Stories center on the life and travels of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) geographer Xu Xiake (1587-1641). Classic tales include The Story of the Luohan Pine and The Story of Shengshui Bridge.

In Jiangyin, Xu's birthplace, a comprehensive protection system has been put in place. It includes restoring Xu's former residence, hosting international tourism festivals, and developing creative cultural products. The city attracts over 50,000 visitors each year, all eager to learn about Xu's stories.
