Tianjin issues 'Join in Card' for foreign professionals

Tianjin issued the first batch of "Join in Cards" at the city's one-stop service center for foreigners working in China on Dec 30, 2024. The card is the equivalent of a foreign work permit and social security card.

On site, the cards were presented to foreign experts from institutes including Tianjin University, Nankai University, Tianjin Jinzhu Wiring Systems Co and Boya Yucai Education Technology Co. Representatives from Tianjin Science and Technology Bureau, Tianjin Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Exit-Entry Administration of Tianjin Municipal Public Security Bureau, and the Tianjin branch of the Bank of China attended the ceremony.
The integration reform, which aligns with national directives to enhance convenience for foreign workers in China, introduced the "Join in Card", symbolizing the city's commitment to attracting global talent.

Since Dec 1, under the guidance of Tianjin Science and Technology Bureau and Tianjin Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Bank of China's Tianjin branch has promptly updated card production equipment and issued the city's first "Join in Cards". This reform significantly reduces application time and costs, offering tangible benefits to foreign professionals.
The third-generation social security card, widely used across fields such as healthcare, pensions, finance, culture and employment, has been seamlessly integrated with the foreign work permit. The "Join in Card" expands its functionality to include identity authentication, information inquiries, public service access, rights protection, and support for international exchange and collaboration.

The Bank of China's Tianjin branch will continue to promote the adoption of the "Join in Card" and enhance its services. The initiative aims to create a more user-friendly and efficient environment for foreign professionals in China, contributing fresh momentum to economic and social development.
