Following the upgrade of the international hall at Terminal 1 of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU), the new Payment Service Center and the Tax Refund Service Center have officially opened.

“Right after landing, I exchanged some cash, got a SIM card, linked my Alipay account, and even used a QR code to take the metro. Payments are so convenient in Sichuan!” On August 3, a foreign visitor from Spain arrived at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and completed all preparations for payment in Sichuan in less than 15 minutes. This one-stop service “ready to use upon arrival” is now benefiting an increasing number of inbound travelers.

The newly established Payment Service Center at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is located at a prime spot near the international arrivals exit of Terminal 1 and serves as the “first service counter” for overseas visitors arriving in Sichuan. Staffed by experienced cross-border service personnel and equipped with intelligent convenience equipment, the center features ATMs supporting cash withdrawals with foreign bank cards, foreign currency exchange machines, and multilingual AI-powered real-time translation screens. Its comprehensive equipment is designed to meet the needs of overseas visitors upon their arrival.

The Payment Service Center provides a “one-stop” cross-border financial service system, which offers a wide range of services, including foreign currency exchange, cash withdrawals with foreign bank cards, reservation-based applications for debit card accounts by overseas visitors, and guidance on linking foreign bank cards with WeChat or Alipay. These services precisely address key pain points faced by overseas visitors, such as language barriers, difficulties in obtaining local bank cards, and obstacles to mobile payments, extending financial support across all aspects of their stay, including dining, accommodation, transportation, and tourism.

Meanwhile, the Tax Refund Service Center at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport focuses on improving the departure consumption experience for overseas travelers. By integrating key services, such as tax refund agency services and refund policy consultation, the center provides overseas travelers with standardized and integrated departure tax refund services.
