Chengdu Pastime｜Trip to the Most Beautiful Towns in Chengdu

Two ancient towns in Chengdu, Anren Ancient Town and Bailu Music Town, make entries into the list of The Most Beautiful Small Towns 2024 in China, released by China Tourism Association on November 21, 2024.

Anren Ancient Town

The ancient town is located in Dayi County in western Chengdu and is the second National 5A-rated tourist attraction in Chengdu. It tops the ancient towns across the country in terms of the number and class of museums, and boasts several communities with distinctive architectural styles and long historical traditions.

Layout of the ancient town consists of Liu's Manor Museum, Jianchuan Museum Cluster, and Old Mansion Street, featuring 27 historic manors that blend Chinese and Western architectural styles, as well as 55 modern museum buildings.

On the ancient streets there are constructions with diversified styles, which are open to visitors as bookstores, bars, eateries and theaters after restorations and revamps.

Anren Bookstore stands out among the constructions as one of the most beautiful bookstores in Chengdu, which has a large collection of books and provides services such as book selling, book reading and borrowing, and also drinks.

Bailu Music Town

The small town is located in Pengzhou City in northern Chengdu. Nestled between lush mountains and clear rivers, the town boasts a romantic atmosphere, with French-style architecture dotting the picturesque landscape.

The Rose Music Square at the town entrance of Bailu is a popular photo-taking spot, and it also boasts the country's first “Forest Concert Hall”. 

Tips
Traffic: drive to the site after locating the site with navigation apps; take express trains to Pengzhou City and then take tourist bus to the town, a 6-minute walk will bring you to the destination.
