Hengshui Museum of Inside Painting

Hengshui Museum of Inside Painting is located in the core section of Hengshui City and is the first professional museum in China that uses snuff bottles as a carrier for inside painting. The museum has collected nearly a thousand precious snuff bottles and smoking utensils of different shapes from the late Ming Dynasty to various dynasties and periods. The museum uses detailed text and physical objects to make introductions to the tobacco culture and types of snuff bottles from ancient and modern times, the production process of snuff bottles, the history of snuff bottle inside painting schools, a brief introduction to the history of Hebei school of inside painting, and the works of  Master Wang Xisan and his disciples.

In January 2006, the museum was rated as a "National AA Tourist Attraction". In July 2007, it was awarded "Hebei Province Integrity Tourism Scenic Spot" by Hebei Provincial Tourism Bureau. In September 2009, it was named "Provincial Patriotic Education Base" by Hebei Provincial Party Committee and provincial government. In June 2016, it was named "Social Science Popularization Base of Hebei Province". In February 2016, it was rated as "National Demonstration Museum for the Management and Operation Of Non-State-Owned Museums". In December 2016, it was named the "National Social Science Popularization Base".
