Swedish youth find a second life in Yunnan—what's it like living a "Stardew Valley"-style farmer's life in Dali? At dawn, the Cangshan Mountains are still wrapped in a light mist. On a path by Erhai Lake, a young man begins his daily routine—Chen Pai, originally from Sweden. He arrived in Dali over a decade ago and has since embraced a life intertwined with soil, local markets, and crops. He sells vegetables he grows himself, films videos sharing his farming days, and brings Dali’s fresh produce to more people through live streaming. He says, “The longer you live in Dali, the more you realize you’re not running away from something, but building something.”
