Chengdu to Launch New International Flights

Starting October 14, 2025, Chengdu Airlines will launch direct flights between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Bangkok, Thailand. The route will operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The round-trip flight numbers will be EU2867/8. Currently, eight domestic and international airlines—Air China, China Eastern Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Spring Airlines, Thai Airways International, Thai AirAsia, Thai Vietjet Air, and Thai Lion Air—are operating flights on this route, with up to 18 direct round-trip flights per day. With Chengdu Airlines joining, the maximum number of daily direct round-trip flights will increase to 20.

Beginning October 27, 2025, Sichuan Airlines will increase the frequency of its direct round-trip flights between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Penang, Malaysia, from five flights per week to daily flights. Additional round-trip flights will be operated on Tuesdays and Sundays, using Airbus A321.

On November 4, 2025, Firefly Airlines of Malaysia will resume its direct round-trip flights between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, operating one weekly flight on Tuesdays. The one-way flight duration will be approximately 4 hours and 40 minutes.

On December 7, 2025, Sichuan Airlines will resume its direct flights between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Auckland, New Zealand, with two round-trip flights per week. By the end of this year, Sichuan Airlines will resume direct flights between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Sapporo, Japan, with three round-trip flights per week.
