The third phase of Line 3 and the second phase of Line 10 of Nanjing Metro will be put into operation on December 19th

The operating mileage of Nanjing Metro has increased to 525 kilometers. 
The third phase of Line 3 and the second phase of Line 10 will commence operation on December 19th. 
Nanjing Daily News (Reporter Wu Chunxia) - According to Nanjing Metro, the third phase of Line 3 and the second phase of Line 10 officially began their initial operation on December 19th. The total operating mileage of the 13 lines that have been opened in Nanjing Metro has increased from 508 kilometers to 525 kilometers, and the total number of stations has risen from 255 to 267. After the opening of Line 3 third phase and Line 10 second phase, the north-south and east-west cross-river lines in the Nanjing Metro network have once again been enhanced in their functions, further improving the accessibility and convenience of the networked operation services of Nanjing Metro. 
The third phase of Line 3 starts from the existing Maozhou East Road Station of Line 3 and ends at Maoling Station. The total length of the line is 3.3 kilometers and it has 2 stations, namely Shang Qinhuai West Station and Maoling Station. All of them are underground stations. This line connects the Nanjing Purple Mountain Science City and fills the gap in the rail transit in the southern core area of Jiangning. After the entire line is completed, during the morning and evening rush hours on weekdays and on weekends, the train operation organization adopts the large and small routes. The large route is from Linchang to Maoling, and the small route is from Linchang to Shengtai West Road; during the off-peak hours on weekdays, the train operation organization adopts a single route from Linchang to Maoling. 
The second phase of Line 10 starts from the existing station An Demen and ends at Dong Qi Road. The total length of the line is 13.33 kilometers and it has 10 stations. Among them, Kaizemeng Station is connected to the existing Line 3, Airport Runway Old Site Station is connected to the under-construction Line 6, and Dazhouchuan Station is connected to the existing Line 5. The line passes through Yuhuatai District, Qinhuai District and Jiangning District, and is connected to the completed first phase project across the Yangtze River, linking the North New District, the Main Urban Area, the Southern New Town and the Qilin Area. This forms convenient transportation channels within and outside the main urban area, shortening the time and space distances between the main urban area and the North New District, the Southern New Town and the Qilin Area. After the entire line is completed, during the morning and evening rush hours on working days, the operation organization adopts a combination of large and small routes, with the large route being from Yushan Road to Dongqi Road, and the small route being from Yushan Road to Dazhouchuan; during other working days and weekends, the operation organization adopts a single route of Yushan Road to Dongqi Road. 
The reporter learned that in order to simultaneously provide seamless connection services for "bus + subway", Nanjing Bus has optimized and adjusted the original Route 168, splitting it into two "blue whale" micro-circulation connection lines, namely B32 and New Route 168, which were launched simultaneously on the 19th. B32 mainly serves the southern area of Nanjing, connecting key places such as Yuhuatai Middle School, Yuhu City Center, Nanjing Science and Technology Museum, and Nanjing Central Hospital. It can not only meet the daily travel needs of citizens for commuting to school and work, as well as for medical treatment and leisure, but also directly connect to Metro Lines 1, 3, and 10, allowing citizens to achieve "one-step access" from their living scenarios to the subway stations. New Route 168 focuses on the southern new town area, covering large residential areas such as Huijing Home and Huijing Heiyuan. It can quickly connect to Metro Lines 3 and 10. After the route optimization, the turnover efficiency has significantly improved, and the experience of waiting for and taking the bus for citizens has become more smooth.
