From late October to early November, the nearly one-kilometer-long ginkgo boulevard between the junction of the Three Gardens (Yuanmingyuan Garden, Changchun Garden and Qichun Garden) and the western entrance of the Western Buildings ruins becomes a popular destination. Layers of golden leaves create a corridor that seems to transcend time.

From early to mid-November each year, the ginkgo boulevard along the east wall of the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse enters its most beautiful season. The ginkgo trees lining the long street transition from deep green to brilliant gold, resembling amber glowing in sunlight.
