Recently, the Wansheng West Transportation Hub Project has passed its completion inspection. Located at the northwest of the Cultural Tourism Zone of Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC), this transportation and urban complex will be put into operation soon, featuring a star-rated hotel and immersive shopping experiences.
Upon entering the hub, visitors are welcomed into a spacious central lobby designed with modern urban aesthetics. The striking sail-shaped architectural elements will evoke the historical prosperity of waterborne trade along Tongzhou section of the Grand Canal.
The hub covers approximately 56,000 square meters, with a total floor area of 176,000 square meters. It includes 10 above-ground floors and two underground levels. Designed to serve one subway line and multiple bus routes, the complex also accommodates public parking areas, taxi pick-up points, and bicycle parking. Passengers will have direct access to the star-rated hotel and other commercial supporting facilities within the complex.
Situated adjacent to Wansheng Xi (W) Station on Line 7, the hub enables convenient transfers between rail transit and ground transportation. Passengers exiting via Entrance/Exit D of Line 7 can quickly enter the hub, shielded from harsh weather conditions. Inside, travelers can seamlessly transfer to buses and taxis or access shared bicycles. The first floor includes two dedicated bus transfer zones, while the underground levels provide more than 700 parking spaces for private vehicles.
As a key transportation node within the BMC, the hub is designed to accommodate a projected daily passenger flow of 300,000 . It is expected to support commuter travel while also offering additional transit and parking options for visitors to Universal Beijing Resort .
Moreover, the hub's commercial and hotel facilities will bring people a brand new living experience.
Beyond transportation, the hub also aims to enhance urban lifestyle offerings. Developed as an integrated complex combining transportation functions with commercial services and a star-rated hotel, it has introduced the TOD TIMES — Tongzhou's first semi-open, immersive retail street located within a transportation hub, complemented by an atrium garden. The design creates a "park-like" environment where passengers can move through a forest-inspired setting while shopping. Future plans for the hub include the addition of a Live House venue, a cinema, specialty bars, premium cafés, and diverse dining options.
