Guidelines for Applying for Foreigner Visa and Residence Permits

(I) Extension of "R" Visa
1. Application form
2. One 2-inch color ID photo with a white background
3. Official letter from the inviting/receiving entity
4. Original and copy of the passport
5. Qualification certificate of the entity
6. Registration form of temporary accommodation for overseas personnel

(II) Application for Work-Type Residence Permit with "Z" Visa
1. Application form
2. One 2-inch color ID photo with a white background
3. Official letter from the inviting/receiving entity
4. Original and copy of the passport
5. Original and copy of the work permit
6. For a residence permit valid for one year or longer, a health certificate is required.
7. Qualification certificate of the entity
8. Registration form of temporary accommodation for overseas personnel
Applicants entering with other types of visas shall also submit materials as required by the competent departments of the Chinese government concerning high-level foreign talents and urgently needed skilled professionals, or provide relevant supporting documents in accordance with the provisions such as the "Provisions on Providing Entry and Residence Convenience for High-Level Foreign Talents and Investors".
