Xiamen

Inna Klein, of American nationality, holds a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Education. She has worked in schools in the United States and Paraguay.

In August 2020, she was appointed as the head of the primary school department (i.e. the principal) at Xiamen International School. Since August 2021, she has been serving as the principal of Xiamen International School.

Coming to Xiamen was the best decision I've ever made.
This year marks the fifth year that Ina has been at Xiamen International School. Five years ago, Inna never imagined that she would cross the ocean and come to China. In 2020, by chance, she saw the information about the school's search for a principal. Although she knew very little about China at that time, her entire family unanimously supported her decision. "Let's go to China!" Her husband and children were even more excited than she was.
Five years have made Ina deeply fall in love with life in Xiamen. At work, she is highly efficient and focused, with a busy schedule; when she is on break, she enjoys taking leisurely walks by the lake in the Botanical Garden. To learn Chinese, Inna hired a Chinese teacher. Now she can proficiently hail ride-hailing services and order takeout. Her office wall is adorned with several Chinese paintings, and there is a Bing Dwen Dwen doll on the table. Everywhere shows her love for Chinese culture.
Inna, who frequently travels between China and abroad, has a deep understanding of the convenience in Xiamen: "When taking the high-speed rail, you just need to show your passport and the staff will enthusiastically guide you; the entry and exit procedures are also very convenient and efficient." These details made her feel extremely warm.

Xiamen became her "Ace Card" for overseas recruitment.

In August 2021, Inna was promoted from the head of the primary school department to the position of principal. With her cross-cultural understanding and communication skills, she united the team and helped the children maintain an open mindset, cultivating them to become outstanding talents with both an international perspective and an exploratory spirit.

At present, Xiamen International School has 439 students from 31 countries and regions. In recent years, more than half of the school's graduates have been admitted to universities ranked among the top 100 worldwide.

After taking up the position of principal, recruiting teachers became an important task. Whenever she went overseas for recruitment, she always highlighted the efficiency, convenience, openness, inclusiveness and beauty of Xiamen as the most persuasive "selling points".
In recent years, Xiamen has broken away from restrictions based on nationality, educational background and work experience, launched an international talent recruitment initiative, and was the first to implement policies for mutual recognition of international professional qualifications. At the same time, a comprehensive service support system has been established to provide foreign talents with all-round assistance from visa application to settlement. "These policies have made the recruitment of foreign teachers unprecedentedly efficient," said Ina. "The process for each foreign teacher from joining the company to settling down is extremely smooth." She herself was also selected as a high-level B-class talent in Xiamen due to her outstanding educational management skills.

Over the years, the international teaching staff of Xiamen International School has been continuously expanding. Currently, among the nearly 130 staff members, there are 45 foreign professionals. They are all experts in the field of international education and are contributing to the innovative development of Xiamen's education.
