若要人不知,除非己莫为

(ruò yào rén bù zhī, chú fēi jǐ mò wéi)

English Translation:“If you don’t want anyone to know what you’ve done, it is better to not have done it in the first place.”

Meaning:
This proverb advises us to avoid actions we would not want others to find out about. It’s a reminder of the importance of integrity.

Example:
如果你不想别人知道你的秘密,最好记住若要人不知,除非己莫为。
(If you don’t want others to know your secret, it’s better to remember “if you don’t want anyone to know, then don’t do it.”)
