Shanghai Shangde Experimental School (SSES) is a private Chinese school founded in 2003. It is a boarding school, which caters for about 10,000 students from Kindergarten to Senior High School (3 -19 years old) from all parts of China and a small number of international students.

While most of the school follows the Chinese National Curriculum, the Integrated Department caters for those who are seeking an international education, and wish to further their studies in an overseas university. Since April 2010, the school has been authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programmes, and so became an IB World School. We are now the only Chinese school in Shanghai that is authorised by the IBO to offer all it's programmes.

Its first kindergarten was founded in 2013 as part of the larger school campus. Doubling in size each year, the kindergarten is now spread out over three sites in Shanghai, with an aim to expand even further in the future. We strongly emphasize creative approaches to learning, where the students can express themselves through play and activities while learning in a caring and supportive environment. Through positive reinforcement and encouraged autonomy, children can find their own path to a fulfilling and rewarding education.

Role Overview

We are looking for experienced homeroom and ESL teachers who can balance classroom instruction with duties such as sports, seasonal activities, and lunchroom supervision. We place a strong emphasis on phonics and early reading development, as well as learning through play and exploration.

Contract Period: August 2026 – August 2027

· Working Status: Full-time

· Location: Pudong / Kangqiao Area, Shanghai

· Target Age Group: 2–6 years old

· Class Size: Maximum 25 students per class

Qualifications:

· Nationality: Must hold a passport from a native English-speaking country (due to visa regulations)

· Native Language: English

· Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an English-speaking country; TEFL certification preferred

· Teaching Experience: Minimum 2 years

· Salary: 24,000–30,000 RMB/month (after tax), with full pay during summer and winter holidays
