The People's Education Press (PEP) is a publishing house under the leadership of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People's Republic of China. It mainly engages in research, writing, compilation, publication, and distribution of school textbooks and other educational books nationwide. PEP was established on December 1st, 1950. After more than 70 years of development, PEP has become the publication standard for primary and secondary school textbooks in China. It has witnessed developments in Chinese primary and secondary school education and has helped maintain its position as an educational publishing leader by implementing primary and secondary school education reform in China.
Writer and Editor for English language teaching materials
People’s Education Press (PEP) is seeking a passionate, experienced and articulate educator to join its ranks in the English Editorial Department as English Language Materials Editor and Writer.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will play a key advisory role in the development and editing of materials across a diverse K-12 English language learning program array. He or she will regularly consult with various members from editorial, audiovisual and content development teams, providing feedback and guidance, as well as driving forward projects as key liaison and stakeholder. Occasionally, the ability to do teacher trainings is expected.
Qualifications:
1.Speaks English as a native or first language
2.Passionate about and dedicated to primary and secondary school education and editorial work
3.Holds a bachelor’s degree or above
4.Majored or specialized in English Language Teaching field (TESOL), education, literature, or other education-related fields
5.Capable of writing and editing English language teaching materials for schools
6.Detail-oriented, with strong grammatical and proofreading skills, with ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
7.Effective interpersonal, inter-cultural and collaboration skills
8.Strong organizational skills
9.Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
10.Teaching experience and/or previous editorial work experience is preferred
11.A basic command of Mandarin Chinese is preferred
