NAIS is a full-time, boarding, non-profit private school. It is located in center of Minhang District with an area of approximately 25,000 square meters. There are 3 main buildings: The Language Center, Performing Arts/Gymnasium Center, and The Residential building, including a library, lab, music room, art room, bakery, drama hall, multifunctional lecture hall, theater, stadium, fencing hall, climbing wall, gym, sports field, dining hall, cafe bar, and dormitory.
The management team has more than 10 years of experience working in international education and have sound functional departments with strict management. NAIS has the qualification of recruiting international teachers. NAIS teachers must meet government requirements for teaching and must secure the proper visa for employment in China. Furthermore, all local Chinese teachers have teaching certifications and experience in international schools.
NAIS is only available to students who plan to study abroad.

The IGCSE Foundation as a high school preparatory bridging stage study, combined with the local Chinese syllabus in Shanghai, strengthens student English ability, lays a solid foundation for high school stage learning. High school students can choose different courses freely according to their future academic plans. They can choose American high school courses (refer to Common Core State Standards of the US states) , AP; British IGCSE, A-Level courses as well as music and art courses with a special focus on the Arts.
NAIS Language Training Center provides courses of TOEFL Junior, international school entrance exam preparation, and TOEFL, to help students achieve higher scores and improve language skills at the same time.

Responsibilities:

In our High School, we offer a combination of American Common core and IGCSE/ AP/ A Level curricula. As our students are English Language Learners, our High School teachers need to ‘wear two hats’. That is, not only do we require our high school teachers to be experts in their respective disciplines, but also to be teachers of the English language, as each discipline will have its own vocabulary and unique demands on students’ abilities.

1. At least bachelors degree level qualification in history or a similar discipline.
2. PGCE or equivalent, i.e. qualified to practice as a licensed teacher in their home country.
3. Experience of teaching students doing Cambridge IGCSE, A level, IB, AP or similar board is desirable. Experience teaching in the US schools will be an added advantage.
4. A high level of English language proficiency, (nearly native speaker is preferred) of English.
Experience of working abroad is desirable preferably with second language speakers.
