Shanghai Star-River Bilingual School (SSBS) is a private, coeducational academy for Chinese
students located in Shanghai’s MinHang District. Under the supervision of Hejia Educational
League, SSBS is fully supported by the Chinese government and dedicated to providing students
with advanced curriculum from grades 1-12.

In addition to offering required subjects such as Chinese, Civic Education, Geography, and
History, SSBS implements an international curriculum completely in English. Students rotate
classrooms between different subjects and use English-language textbooks for all courses except
Chinese. By introducing American-style learning methods and requiring students to take the
majority of their courses in English, the school prepares students to smoothly adjust to elite
international universities after graduation.

SSBS is dedicated to meeting student needs through a balanced combination of a Chinese teaching
style and standard international educational environment. The school educates its students in both
