Hangzhou International School (HIS) was first opened in 2002 at its current site in Binjiang, alongside the campus of No. 2 High School. HIS serves students from 2-18 years old and is the first International School and only IB and WASC accredited school in the region. The school enrolls over 900 students from over 50 nationalities. Graduates attend top universities around the world. The Director of School, Mr. Jeffry Stubbs, has worked with HIS for fifteen years and has seen the rapid growth of student enrollment over the past years. As the old school has reached capacity, HIS moved to new campus in August 2022. This is an ASSISTANT Aquatics Coordinator posting. We currently have a full time Aquatics Coordinator and 5 aquatics assistants. This post is for an entry level to aquatics program and swim team leadership. The salary entry level is the same for teachers.

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Aquatics Coordinator acts as a swim instructor, coach and pool manager. Responsibilities will include working closely with the Aquatics Coordinator and/or Director of Athletics and Activities in the following: (a) Assisting in the planning and overseeing of the School's aquatics programs and services. (b) Ensuing the quality and related safety of the programs (before, during and after school). (c) Acting as the assistant lead HIS Swim Instructor by administering, supervising and promoting the HIS swimming program, as well as training staff in swimming instruction, and taking on all responsibilities of the Aquatics Coordinator in his/her absence. (d) Assisting with and supervising the day-to-day operations of the pool facility, staff, supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

1. Valid Physical Education degree and/or aquatics certification.
2. Must be certified as a Water Safety Instructor or equivalent.
3. Must have previous experience in a management or supervisory position at a similar aquatic center.
4. Must have current certification in standard first aid or equivalent.
5. Must have current certification in American Red Cross, C.P.R or equivalent.
6. Must have lifeguard certification.
7. Strong team player who has excellent interpersonal, management and leadership skills.
