Hosted by the Foreign Talent Research Center, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) of the People's Republic of China, Leading Group Office for Education, Science and Technology, and Talent Department of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, the 2026 Job Fair for Foreigners in Chengdu (Xiamen Focus) was held successfully in Chengdu on April 26, 2026. As an important initiative of Xiamen’s “cross-provincial talent attraction” efforts, this event provides a face-to-face, efficient, and pragmatic matching platform for employers in Xiamen and foreign talents in Chengdu.

Mr. Zhuang Rongliang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Xiamen Municipal Committee of the CPC and Vice Mayor of the Xiamen Municipal People's Government and Mr. Xiong Deyi, the Deputy Director General of Foreign Talent Research Center, MOHRSS delivered speeches in the Opening Ceremony. Experts from the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security introduced foreign-related policy and representatives of BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center, Xiamen Science City and Xiamen C&D Inc. presented company promotion.
In addition, the Sichuan University Workstation for Xiamen's Introduction of Foreign Talents was officially inaugurated. Jointly established by the Xiamen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and Sichuan University, the workstation aims to comprehensively showcase Xiamen's international talent ecosystem and support the city in its multi-dimensional efforts to introduce and cultivate foreign talents.

Xiamen C&D Inc., XIAMEN ITG GROUP CORP., LTD., Xiamen Sanan Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. and Xiamen Technology Industrialization Group Co., Ltd., Huaqiao University and Xiamen University of Technology are among the employers participating on-site, offering a total of 118 positions and seeking over 200 professionals. The job openings are closely aligned with the talent needs of Xiamen’s “4+4+6” modern industrial system, with a focus on key areas such as electronic information, mechanical engineering, education, and cultural creativity, aiming to attract urgently needed foreign talent.
According to statistics, the Job Fair attracted nearly 500 foreign job seekers from more than 30 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Korea, Pakistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc. Overseas students from Sichuan University, Southwest University of Finance and Economics, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China as well as Chengdu University of Technology actively show up for on-site coordination and a large percent of them hold Master or PhD Degrees

Both job seekers and exhibitors are generally satisfied with the effect and gave positive feedback. Some overseas students said they were “fascinated by the friendly working and living environment of Xiamen, will consider relocating here in the future.” The representative of Fujian Ocean Innovation Center though this trip “has been very rewarding - there is a large number of high-quality talents in the AI field.” They will “carefully screen the dozens of resumes and arrange interview accordingly.” What’s more, Xiamen Gongfu Tea Ceremony was organized on site, introducing Xiamen’s traditional culture to overseas students.
