Application of Foreign Nationals for Extension and Renewal of M (commercial trade) Visa

Eligible Applicants
Foreiqn nationals who come to Wuhan for business and trading activities.


Application Materials
(I) Valid passport or other international travel documents, including copies of the personal information page, the valid visa page, and the visa page with the latest entry stamp
(II) Registration Form of Residence for Visitors From Overseas.
(III) Visa/Stay Permit/Residence Permit Application Form completed in black ink with a recent2-inch bareheaded, full-face photo on a white backqround.
(IV) Proof of lawful registration of the organizationin Wuhan that sent the invitation (no paper materials required, as the police will verify it online)
(V) Official letter in Chinese to the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau from the organization (individual) that sent theinvitation. (If the inviter is an individual, both parties shall siqn in person). The letter shall include: 1. Basic information about the applicant and the organization(individual) that sent the invitation. 2. Reason forapplication: including the details of activities in China, the duration of stay in China, and entry-exit arrangements; 3. Guarantee of living expenses during the stay in China and compliance with Chinese laws.
(VI) Other application materials required by the exit and entry administration authority based on the situation.
Note: All application materials shall be submitted in their original version for verification along with A4 copies.


Duration of Extended Visa
(I) Those who apply for an extension of M visa may apply for an extension of no more than 180 days.
(II) Those who apply for renewal of M visa(including those holding M visa who apply for additional entries) may apply for a zero/single/double/multiple-entry visa valid for up to 1 year with a stay duration of nomore than 180 days. The cumulative duration of stay onthe renewed visa shall not exceed 1 year from the lastentry into China.
(III) For high-caliber foreign professionals and foreign experts whose skills are urgently needed inChina, a multiple-entry visa valid for up to 5 years witha stay duration of up to 180 days can be issued uponpresenting an invitation letter from the organization that sent the invitation, along with talent verification,invitation/recommendation letter, and other supportingdocuments provided by relevant authorities, employeror individual.
(IV) Foreign nationals of Chinese origin, amultiple-entry visa valid for up to 5 years with a stay duration of up to 180 days can be issued upon presenting proof of engagement in business and trading activities and the identification documentsof foreign nationals of Chinese origin.
(V) For managerial and technical personnel of foreign-funded enterprises, a multiple-entry visavalid for up to 2 years with a stay duration of up to180 days can be issued upon presenting the invitation letter and other supporting documents.


Important Notes
(I) Applicants are required to be interviewed.Those who are under the age of 16, over the age of 60, or suffer mobillity issues due to illness or otherreasons, or have a good record of previousstay/residence in China may have others file an application on their behalf. However, if the exit andentry administration authority requires aninterview, the applicant must attend it in person.
(II) The extension of visa is valid for the latestentry only and does not affect the number ofentries and validity period of the original visa, Thecumulative extended period of stay shall not exceed the duration of stay specified in the originalvisa. Upon visa renewal, the original visa becomes invalid.
(III) Supporting documents provided by foreign nationals in languages other than Chinese for applying for visa/stay permit/residence permit must be accompanied by a Chinese translation from a qualified translation company in China
(IV) First-time applicants in China under theage of 18 who are foreign nationals of Chinese origin or overseas Chinese are also required tosubmit their birth certificate, parents' passports, and proof of residence abroad.
(V) Individuals who have not canceled their Chinese household registration must do so before filing an application.


This notification shall be interpreted by the Exiand Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau.
