Shangcheng District has a regional area of 122 square kilometers and its GDP exceeded 250 billion yuan in 2022. It has a rich historical and cultural heritage, as well as abundant tourism resources. Shangcheng District of Hangzhou has three innovation platforms, Qiantang Smart City, China Yuangu·Hanggang Science and Technology Building and Xizi Smart Industrial platforms. Qiantang Smart City, as the main industrial platform of the whole region, is one of the 16 development zones (parks) reserved in Hangzhou.
