Mountains-to-Sea Trail
Xiamen’s commitment to well-being and an active lifestyle is embodied by the magnificent Mountains-to-Sea Fitness Trail, a scenic 54-kilometer pedestrian corridor winding through the island’s diverse landscapes. The trail comprises two main branches. The Yunhai Line, a 23-kilometer route traverses the island from east to west, connecting significant ecological areas across eight mountains and three waterways in central and northern Xiamen Island. Stretching 31 kilometers north to south, the Linhai Line intersects with the Yunhai Line and the Yunding Road Elevated Bicycle Path, forming a dynamic network for recreation and exploration. The thoughtfully designed trail seamlessly integrates with the natural environment, showcasing Xiamen’s stunning “mountains, sea, and city” scenery. Visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant tapestry of seasonal changes, from the colorful blooms of spring to the rich hues of autumn foliage, from the refreshing shade of summer phoenix trees to the delicate beauty of winter plum blossoms. Its exceptional design and integration with nature have earned the Mountains-to-Sea Fitness Trail prestigious accolades, including the 2023 China Human Settlements Exemplary Award, and recognition as one of the Top Ten Best Practices for Barrier-Free Environment Integration.
