【Established Date】Tianjin and Volgograd Oblast, Russia signed a memorandum on strengthening friendly exchanges and cooperation on February 7, 2020.
【City Characteristics】 Volgograd, formerly known as Stalingrad, is located in the lower reaches of the Volga River. It’s the capital city of Volgograd, and a hub of water and land transportation in the southeast of Russia and Europe. More than half of the Oblast’s industries are concentrated in the city of Volgograd, mainly include electric power, metallurgy (steel and aluminum smelting), machinery manufacturing (tractors, motors, ships, etc.), oil and natural gas exploitation and processing, and chemical industry.
【Cooperation Fields】At present, Tianjin Foreign Studies University and Volgograd State Pedagogical University (VGSPU) maintain good cooperation and have jointly built a Confucius Institute.
