Come to Chengdu for the National Day Holiday

The seven-day National Day holiday is just around the corner.Wondering how to spend it?Chengdu is the answer!Exhibitions, performances, fairs, sports events…There’s something for everyone.

Jinjiang District

The “Listening to Jinjiang Waves—Riverside Concert” National Day Special will be held on October 3 at Hejiang Pavilion.

Qingyang District

The “Treasures from the V&A Wedgwood Collection” will be held at Chengdu Museum, marking the first stop of the exhibition’s China tour.

The Chengdu ICH Life at Citanggai Art Community will feature a range of activities, including an original intangible cultural heritage fair, street parades, and themed exhibitions.

Jinniu District

The Jinniu Hot Music LIVE Lakeside Concert and a special China dance performance will be held at Tianfu Art Park. The 32nd Autumn in Chengdu International Music Season will take place at Chengdu Open Air Music Park.

Wuhou District

The “Yulin Season 3—Street & Alley Coffee Season” will take place along Yulin East Road and 4th Yulin Alley from October 1 to 3. Bringing together more than 20 premium coffee shop owners from China and abroad, the event will present an immersive new Citywalk experience.

Chenghua District

The 2026 Chenghua—Starlight LIVE Double Festival Music Showcase Season will take place at the Open-Air Theater of CPAA Chengdu Grand Theater. Performances will be staged daily from 19:30 to 21:30. Admissions are free throughout the event.

The Harry Potter: Visions of Magic Interactive Art Experience will open to the public at Warehouse 2, Red Barn 101. It will recreate seven iconic scenes from the Harry Potter series.

Chengdu Hi-tech Zone

The Chengdu International Gastronomy Carnival will be held at Tiexiang Temple Riverfront. At the “Beautiful Life Alley” of Tiexiang Temple Riverfront, 76 stores will join forces to create a holiday fair, offering a one-stop, all-day holiday experience for families. The event will run through October 7.

Longquanyi District

The Dong’an Lake National Day Carnival is set to kick off. Live bands and immersive performances will take the stage in turn.

Shuangliu District

During the day, Huanglongxi Ancient Town will feature a dragon dance parade. At night, visitors can enjoy the national-level intangible cultural heritage performances, Huanglongxi Fire Dragon Lantern Dance and “iron flower” fireworks.

Xinjin District

The 2026 Chengdu Open Rowing Regatta will take place on October 1 and 2 along the Nanhe River in Xinjin urban area. Twelve rowing teams from well-known universities around the world, including the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge in the UK, Princeton University in the US, Peking University, and Tsinghua University, will compete with one another. Two prestigious international universities, Stanford University in the US and McGill University in Canada, will make their debut at the event.

Sichuan Tianfu New Area

The National Day Cultural Tourism Consumption Carnival will take place at the Liyi Square of Tianfu International Convention Center, bringing together trendy toys and food, intangible cultural heritage night tours, and spectacular light and water-screen shows. The event will run through October 5.

On October 1, the “2026 National Day Lakeside Run” will take place around Xinglong Lake.

Chengdu Eastern New Area

The International Horticultural Exhibition Chengdu Straw Art Season will continue through October 18.

Danjingtai will hold the Astronomy and Starry Sky Camping Week. A special autumn hiking medal challenge will be launched in parallel. Participants will receive a themed medal upon completing the challenge.

From October 1 to 7, the Sancha Lake Fresh Catch Consumption Season will get underway, offering yacht rides across the lake and a market featuring fresh local catch.

Pengzhou City

The 14th Bailu Sino French Music Festival and the 3rd Chengdu-Chongqing International Theater Festival are currently underway.

Dujiangyan City

From October 1 to 7, Dujiangyan Scenic Area will present the “Millennia Question” themed video series from 19:00 to 23:30 every day. Centered on six historical figures, including Li Bing, the series will tell the story of Dujiangyan’s millennia-old water management heritage. The “Ancient Weir Banknotes” will serve as props across seven themed experience stations set up offline at different locations, where roaming character performers will randomly invite visitors to earn and spend the banknotes and redeem them for gifts.
