The 9th China-Eurasia Expo was held in Urumqi, Xinjiang, from June 25 to 29, with Pakistan participating as the guest country. This episode of "InXinjiang" features an exclusive interview with Pakistan's Ambassador to China, Karim Hashmi.

Khalil Hashmi said this was his third time attending the China-Eurasia Expo, and he commended the event for establishing new exhibition zones focusing on new quality productivity, artificial intelligence, digital economy, and green technology. He also expressed gratitude to Xinjiang for granting Pakistan the status of guest country of honor.

In the view of Karim Hashmi, Xinjiang is a vital gateway to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. As the corridor's development enters its second phase, Xinjiang has become a key node for promoting bilateral cooperation across multiple fields between the two countries. Under the framework of "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor 2.0," agriculture, mineral extraction, information and communication technology (including digital economy and artificial intelligence), and industrial collaboration are the four priority areas. "We welcome Xinjiang enterprises to invest in Pakistan and participate in the development of special economic zones," said Karim Hashmi.

Looking ahead, Karim Hashmi hopes that bilateral trade between Xinjiang and Gilgit-Baltistan will exceed $1 billion within five years, and that total China-Pakistan bilateral trade will surpass $100 billion. He also revealed that a joint concert will be held in Beijing this year, and expressed his desire to promote more cultural exchange activities in Xinjiang.
