Kathmandu is the capital and largest city of Nepal with an area of about 50.67 square kilometers and a population of about 5 million. It is an ancient city with a history of more than 1,200 years. Nepal has many pagodas and temples. With over 2,700 temples of all sizes, Kathmandu is reputed as “Temple City” and “Open Air Museum”. Kathmandu enjoys unique geographical environment, with an average annual temperature of about 20℃and a pleasant climate. Renowned as “Paradise in the Mountains”, Kathmandu is a world-famous tourist resort.
On the morning of October 13, 2019, under the witnesses of President Xi Jinping and Nepalese Prime Minister Oli, Nanjing and Kathmandu established sister-city relationship, which was included in the China-Nepal joint statement. In recent years, Nanjing and Kathmandu have carried out frequent exchanges in personnel exchanges, culture and other fields. Nanjing has sent cultural delegations to Kathmandu many times. Little Angel School of Nepal has established sister-school relationship with Nanjing Art Primary School (Nanjing Little Red Flower Art Troupe) and Nanjing Xishanqiao Primary School.
