Nanjing Port is an international, comprehensive and multifunctional hub port for river and seatransshipment, a national coastal and Class A port open to the outside. lt is crucial to Nanjingas a regional shipping logistics center. Based on -12.5m deep-water channel in the YangtzeRiver, three highway-railway-waterway combined transportation hubs, namely, Longtan, Xibaand Xinshengwei, have been built. Besides, Nanjing Port is the only port that caters to seamlessconnection between container railway and waterway in the lower reaches of Yangtze River.It plans nine freight port areas such as Xinshengwei and Longtan, and four passenger portareas such as Pukou and Shangyuanmen, with 247 productive berths and an annual designedthroughput capacity of 346 million tons. As of the end of 2023, the port of Nanjing has a totalof 190 productive berths along the river, with an annual designed throughput capacity of 200milion tons. in 2023, the port completed a cargo throughput of 275 million tons and a containerthroughput of 3.46 million TEUs.
