Guangdong-Shenzhen Trains Reduced to 1 Hour from Mar. 7

Mar 05, 2025

Starting from March 7, 2025, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity rail service will undergo further optimization and adjustments, with some travel times shortened to just one hour.
This adjustment will increase the number of trains operating on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity line to 179, with 8 round trips between Guangzhou and Futian Station and 171 round trips to Shenzhen Station. In order to make it easier for passengers to identify the destination of each train, the railway department has standardized the train numbers: those beginning with C70 will be for the Guangzhou East-Shenzhen route, C80 for the Guangzhou Baiyun-Shenzhen route, and D759 for the Guangzhou-Futian route. Additionally, trains starting with C80 will be "Direct Express" trains.

22 Direct Express Trains Added to the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Route

The Guangzhou East-Shenzhen route will see the addition of 6 "Direct Express" trains, numbered C8017, C8018, C8019, C8020, C8021, and C8022. This will bring the total number of "C80" Direct Express trains to 22. With the implementation of a "Same-Day Ticket Validity" policy and a travel time reduction to 1 hour, the service will offer more efficient travel for passengers, allowing for more precise time planning.

"Among the 22 'Direct Express' trains, 18 will depart at set hours. The earliest and latest departure times for Shenzhen and Guangzhou East stations will be 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM respectively, making it more convenient for daily commuters," said a spokesperson from Shenzhen Station.

It is reported that from Shenzhen Station to Guangzhou East Station, 9 "Direct Express" trains will depart on the hour, with departure times as follows: 07:00, 09:00, 10:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 18:00, 20:00, and 21:00. In addition to these hourly departures, there will also be two additional trains at 11:30 and 15:30.
