Located in the Low-carbon Ecological CoreDemonstration Zone in the south of Hexi NewTown, Nanjing international Friendship Park(formerly known as Hexi Ecological Park) coversa total area of 21.7 hectares. As a low -carbon. ecological and intelligent urban park，it openedto the public in June 2014. To meet people'sever-growing needs for a better life and fostera broad global perspective, the CPC MunicipalCommittee and the People's Government of Nanjing decided in 2018 to build the park into aplatform for Nanjing's international exchanges.which was officially renamed Nanjing InternationalFriendship Park later in 2019.NanjingInternational Friendship Park is jointly constructedand managed by the Foreian Affairs Office ofNaniing Municipal People's Government and theDevelopment and Construction Headquarters oNaniing Hexi New Town.Sculptures designedby Naniina's sister cities will be placed in thepark successively. An array of national flags othe countries where Nanjing's sister cities arelocated has been set up along the lakeshoreand a new international friendship forest has alsobeen arranged. Two rest areas in the park canorovide tourists with urban book bars and parentchild space, where they can make a pit stop. Thesunken plaza outside the exhibition hall serves asan area to hold theme parties from time to timeaiming to develop into a model international citiving room.Naniing Sister Cities Exhibition Halis located underaround in the park, With a floo!area of 1.100 square meters, the exhibition halhas 7 showrooms including Asia Hall. EuropeHall. America Hall,Oceania Hall and Africa Halland is home to nearly 170 qifts from sister citiesincludina sculptures, paintinas,handicrafts.commemorative plaques and a variety of interesting interactive devices, displaying in a vividway Nanjing's international friendly exchangesand cooperation.
