Moby Dick @ West Bund Theatre

Witness theater history with Robert Wilson's final masterpiece, Moby Dick, making its Asian premiere at Shanghai's West Bund Theatre.
In this 100-minute visual poem, the legendary director abandons traditional narrative for 20 striking tableaux—stark black-and-white geometries, sculptural figures, and shadow-play compositions bathed in his signature cold light.
British avant-garde guitarist Anna Calvi fuels the ritualistic stage with raw, haunting original songs that shift from blazing intensity to whispered intimacy.
This is not a conventional adaptation but a distilled, almost sacred fusion of literature, music, and visual art.
