2025 Tiger Hill Flower Festival to begin this Saturday

Mar 28, 2025

Suzhou

The 2025 Tiger Hill Flower Festival is set to begin this Saturday.

During the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, the floral industry thrived in the Tiger Hill area, with many locals making a living by cultivating flowers, leading to related festivals and traditions.
This year's festival will feature Chinese violet cress across the whole scenic area, cherry blossoms by the north gate, crabapples at the Garden of Water-side Pavilion, camellias near the Gully for Raising Cranes, and peach blooms at the Flower Deity Garden. The riverbank by the south gate and the path up the hill will both be adorned with hydrangea, and a scroll-like flower landscape will be set up near the north gate.

The ancient Chinese believed flowers were governed by 12 deities, each responsible for one lunar month. At 10 a.m. on the opening day, a parade featuring the 12 flower deities will take place from the West Brook Surrounded by Verdure to the Pagoda Courtyard.

The festival will also include a spring market with various interactive experiences and traditional games. Visitors can immerse themselves in the lifestyle of ancient people and take home limited-edition cultural products.

In the Clouds Over Tea Fragrance area, visitors can experience tea ceremonies and savor a tea feast next to spring flowers, a perfect way to enjoy the slow-paced life of Suzhou.
The festival will last through May 5. In addition to enchanting views and delicious food, there will also be NPCs (non-player characters) dressed up as Chinese historical figures.
